Pike County Jail Overview
Pike County Jail is operated by the Pike County Sheriff's Office. It is the only Pike County adult detention facility identified in the facility map for this build. The jail and sheriff's office share the public address at 100 S. 4th Street in Petersburg, so jail information, records delivery, bond posting, lobby kiosks, and on-site video visiting all route through the same local building.
The jail holds pretrial detainees, local sentenced inmates, probation violation detainees, warrant detainees, and people waiting for transfer after a court disposition. The public roster feed publishes booking dates, arrest numbers, age, race, gender, charges, and booking photos. It does not publish housing units, bond amounts, court dates, release dates, arresting officers, or full birth dates in the entries inspected.
Pike County Jail Population
Current rated bed capacity was not published on the official Pike sheriff pages reviewed. The most current public roster count found during research was 34 entries in the sheriff OCV feed on June 12, 2026. A historical Prison Policy Initiative table using the BJS 2013 Census of Jail Facilities listed Pike Co. Law Enf. Ctr. with 35 local prisoners or average daily population. Vera historical data listed older capacities, including 72 in 2005 through 2007, but those older values should not be treated as the current official jail rating.
Look Up Pike County Jail Inmates
The correct lookup path for Pike County Jail is the Pike County Sheriff's Office inmate search. The route is an OCV web app backed by a public jail booking feed. It is free to view, and no login was observed for roster access. The feature works more like a current booking feed than a search form with public filter fields.
- Open the sheriff inmate search route or the Pike County Sheriff's Office mobile app.
- Find the name as published in the roster entry, allowing for all-caps names and spacing differences.
- Copy the booking date and arrest number for later calls or public-records requests.
- Read charge lines as booking information, then verify filed charges in Pike County Court or Indiana MyCase.
- Call Pike County Jail at (812) 354-1149 if the online roster does not show a person who may be in local custody.
The Pike County Sheriff's Office home page links its jail information tools, app download prompt, and inmate search channel.
The sheriff home page is also a useful fallback when a direct jail roster route fails to load because of browser JavaScript.
Pike County Jail Address
The jail contact line is for custody and jail information. The sheriff's main office number is the better route for records and general sheriff business. Public records can be mailed or delivered in person during the posted weekday records-request window, but bond posting is a separate 24-hour jail or sheriff office function under the bond page.

Pike County Jail Booking
Booking at Pike County Jail produces the public fields seen in the roster: booking date, arrest number, age, race, gender, charge lines, and booking photo. The exact internal booking timeline, fingerprint system, housing classification method, and first appearance schedule were not published in the Pike official sources reviewed, so those details should be confirmed directly with the jail or court.
Medical, mental-health, and addiction-related care is provided through Quality Correctional Care. Inmates may request medical services through an electronic Sick Call form. HIPAA limits what medical personnel and jail staff can discuss with outside parties. Accepted medical-related items include prescription glasses, contacts, and approved prescription medications.
Pike County Jail Records Requests
Records not visible in the Pike County Jail roster can be requested through the sheriff's public-records process. The general form asks for requester contact details, incident date, incident type, incident location, parties involved, and record type. It includes options for an incident or case report, citation with UTT number, and other records.
Law-enforcement recordings use a separate BWC APRA form. The Pike packet says requests may require clarification, ongoing investigation or court matters may limit release, and a processing or redaction fee of $150 per recording may be charged. Payment for BWC processing may be cash, money order, or cashier's check payable to the Pike County Sheriff's Office.
The jail's public roster is not a certified criminal-history report. Pike's local criminal-history request page says sheriff checks include verified Pike County arrest and booking information only, and that the data should not be relied on to determine a full criminal record. Filed charges, amendments, dismissals, pleas, and dispositions belong in court records, not in the jail roster alone.
Note: Confirm custody, visit times, and bond eligibility with Pike County Jail before traveling or sending money.
Pike County Jail Transfers
A person can leave Pike County Jail without the court case being finished online. Release, bond, sentence, probation action, another county hold, IDOC transfer, federal custody, or immigration custody can all change the next search channel. After state sentencing, use the IDOC incarcerated locator by name or DOC number. Federal sentenced prisoners use the BOP inmate locator, while immigration detention uses ICE ODLS.
Pike County, Indiana should not be confused with Pike County Correctional Facility in Pennsylvania. No ICE detention facility was found in Pike County, Indiana, and no BOP prison or IDOC adult correctional facility was identified in the county. For local custody questions, the Pike County Jail phone line remains the practical first check.
